It’s the natural inconsistencies—the accidental differences between one finished piece and another—that make hand-printed fabrics, papers, furniture, and works of art so interesting. The quirks are what show the maker’s intimate involvement in the process, and it’s that unique quality that first attracted textile designer and illustrator Lena Corwin to hand-printing.

This is a great introduction for future letterpress printers and press owners as well as interesting book for experienced printers. Short but detailed enough for most purposes this book explains all aspects around a modern letterpress studio.
Although it is pretty new for a letterpress manual (it was published 2005) it is not printed anymore. That's why it's not available through Amazon but you can order a copy at NA Graphics.

This book is a great source for all who want to earn money with letterpress printing (or any other craft). The Handmade Marketplace breaks down and makes sense of the global possibilities for marketing and selling crafts. It explains how to find the right price for the products, determine cost of goods, understand market competition, and how to sell these on fairs or online.
What we like about this book is that it is very focused on our life today and includes online marketplaces like Etsy and other great sites.
