The Whistle Press
When did you start letterpress printing?:
What inspires you?:
I find immense inspiration in nature. Also in random things such as old picture frames, stamps, antique postcards, flea markets and much more
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
I use my beautiful 1880's Cropper Minerva that I lovingly restored, my 1960's Heidelberg platen and a Masseeley hot foil press. We use 100% cotton paper made at a Mill only 10 miles away and rubber based inks.
How would you describe your artwork?:
Inspired by nature, handcrafted, hand drawn and painted illustrations. Often rustic, often bold
What kind of products do you create?:
Wedding invitations, suites and stationery. Personal stationery, correspondence notecards, business cards.
Do you offer custom work?:
Where can we buy your products?:
www.thewhistlepress.co.uk and samples at www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheWhistlePress
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?:
I did an awful lot of research before starting out so I was well prepared for a long journey and many struggles but maybe not quite so much frustration as I had experienced at the start!
