About:
& type born with the aim of don’t lose the old typography styles and techniques. We draw and print our own letters with a mix of styles inspired by old books, calligraphy, graffiti and comics, with a particular care to details. Our mission is to preserve the “analogic” typography in the digital era because every graphic designer or anyone who works with the letters have to know the evolution of those and last but not least, we have fun to do that. We love type. We love drawing type. We love paper We love the ink on our hands.

When did you start letterpress printing?: 
We started in the hot summer of 2011.
What do you like best about letterpress printing?: 
We love the smell of ink and the impression on the paper.
What inspires you?: 
Everything around us is a source of inspiration especially music, friends and types.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?: 
Mostly we work with two letterpress form Saroglia, one 70x100cm and other one 40x60cm, sometimes we use also a small print art press. We prefer to use paper with high percent of cotton and rapid drying ink.
How would you describe your artwork?: 
It's difficult for us to describe our works, most of them are letters so they described by themselves.
What kind of products do you create?: 
Posters, cards, notebook, small books, movable types, custom type and typefaces.

Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?: 
We offer different kind of workshops. Some of these workshops are to introduce kids to the print, other about linocut and how to print with movable type.
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?: 
How to center properly different linocut matrices for multi-color prints.
