A fugitive budgie in a post-cowboy world... Pea rides the dusty plains of typography & hot beverages with her canine companion, Ernie, the Weetabix kid. One half of Aardvarkonsea Printmongers, Pea is a self confessed type nerd & ink monkey; channeler of white spirit & lemon polenta cake. When they're not making prints in their studio in Hastings, Pea & Ernie like to eat old fashioned breakfast cereals, chase the squirrels of Sussex & snooze on the sofa afterwards.

Interview with Pea from Lucky Budgie
When did you start letterpress printing?:
What do you like best about letterpress printing?:
You can have an idea for a print over breakfast, run to your workshop, set it, print it & go home covered in ink. A handmade object from concept to finished product in a day (although, obviously, it doesn't always happen that way)
What inspires you?:
1970's breakfast cereals & my dog, Ernie.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
Vandercook Universal 3. Blotting paper, Japanese simili paper, Van Son inks.
How would you describe your artwork?:
The contents of my head, aged 7. (I'm 46)
What kind of products do you create?:
Letterpress & linocut whimsies.
Do you offer custom work?:
Where can we buy your products?:
Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?:
Yes, letterpress & linocut every other weekend.
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?:
How to access the contents of my 7 year old head. Also, that Van Son inks have a screw top lid; I nearly did myself a terrible injury with a screw driver trying to prize the lids off at first!
