About:
We're a fledgling operation, in the southwest of France. Our vision is to produce fine-quality works, with an emphasis on the written word. Therefore, in addition to the correspondence and the poem-posters we've already produced, we will eventually be producing BOOKS and all sorts of literature, including a submission-based literary review. We possess three Heidelberg 10x15 platen presses, but for lack of appropriate space, we have to date used only a completely manual A1-format poster press made in Vichy sometime in the 19th century, which I restored completely. Being inspired by the likes of Leonard & Virginia Woolf, and a general drive to preserve and further the old skill sets and practices, we aim to hand-set all our type.

Interview with Christopher from Les Écrits 9
When did you start letterpress printing?:
2013
What do you like best about letterpress printing?:
Personally, I find a great sense of calm while printing. Everything in our operation is incredibly manual, so it requires your utmost attention.
What inspires you?:
I'm inspired by the perseverance of the old knowledge of skills and techniques around my area, no matter the genre. I'm inspired by hard work and community.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
For the moment, the singular press we use is a poser-size press from the 19th century. We have a variety of water and oil-based inks.
What kind of products do you create?:
Posters, cards, business cards for now. Longer-form texts to come!
Do you offer custom work?:
yes
Where can we buy your products?:
www.lesecrits9.com/respiration--s-.html
Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?:
Not yet, but soon!
