Interview with Ella from Ink Paper Art Cafe
When did you start letterpress printing?:
About one and a half year ago. But just in november 2012 we started a studio of our own. Because we have ideas, we have the knowledge and we want to do it our way. Because we think we have things to say and share about it.
What do you like best about letterpress printing?:
The dirty hands, the simpleness and uniqueness of each piece, the time we kind of suspend during the process of letterpress printing.
What inspires you?:
An ordinary paper, a special paper, an ink, a leave, a tree, a star, a friendly talk, a coffee. Craft and craftsmanship of all kind, old books, vintage photography, typography, calligraphy.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
We are fans of Heidelberg family, use Flint ink and plates and our best paper supplier is Antalis.
How would you describe your artwork?:
Ink.Paper.Art. Minimalistic, simple, different. With a touch of a very good coffee and lot of love and passion for letterpress.
What kind of products do you create?:
Business cards, wedding invitations, notebooks, cards, calendars, art prints, restaurant and bar menus, coasters, stationery and many others. Just ask us.
Do you offer custom work?:
Where can we buy your products?:
Our online shop will be ready for launch soon.
Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?:
Yes. We want to create and share a common knowledgebase. We also want to stimulate and guide creative people to take a sneak peak into the letterpress world.
