At HipCat we love printing & we love teaching. We love the fine arts and we’re also very partial to a nice piece of printed ephemera and an old printing press or two. While we accept defeat and happily concede victory to the digital revolution, we’re fighting a rear guard action for the hand skill, for those among us who need to create physically tactile works on paper, who love the smell of the ink and the hum of the presses, those who love the feel of the type under their hands. We’re here for all that and for you! At HipCat we show you how to… HipCat printery runs a number of workshops all year round to utilise old fashioned know-how and old printing presses. We can teach you how to produce your own business cards, books, booklets, postcards, birthday cards, tickets, posters or fine art prints. We do this in a purpose built, safe and nurturing environment! We will teach you the A-Z of printing on presses that are over 100 years old. At HipCat we will teach you how to create your own inkstain in history.
