Bound Staff Press is the fine art printmaking and letterpress of Justin S. Miller. I imagine and create linoleum cuts that explore the contrast between natural and industrial forms. I have a growing fascination with typography.

Interview with Justin from Bound Staff Press
When did you start letterpress printing?: 
BFA in Printmaking in 2000, Letterpress in 2008
What do you like best about letterpress printing?: 
Ease of registration for multi color linocuts. Addiction to wood and lead type.
What inspires you?: 
I am inspired by my spiritual journey. I am looking for ways to explore the mysteries of God through the creation of symbolic images.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?: 
I have many presses, but my favorite to operate is my 10x15 C&P Craftsman. I also have a Craftsmen Superior, Signpress, Etching press, Dickerson Combo lithography/etching press and a couple of student presses. I most often print on Rives BFK using oil based ink and rubber based ink.
How would you describe your artwork?: 
My work contrasts natural and industrial symbols and images to create questions in the mind of the viewer.
What kind of products do you create?: 
Fine Art Printmaking in linoleum, intaglio, and soon in lithography.

Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?: 
I have offered small group and one-on-one workshops in linoleum cutting and printing. I also teach art full time at a Jr/Sr High School and part time for a local Jr. College.
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?: 
Carbon paper under the tympan makes makeready easy.
