Black Heart Letterpress is Joseph and Kate.
About:
Founded in 2011, Black Heart Letterpress creates unique handmade goods. Our primary tool is a 1,500 lb, 1920′s-era Chandler & Price 10 x 15 New Series letterpress. Rounding out the arsenal are a Kelsey Excelsior 5×8 Model N, also from the 20′s, and a rare Showcard Model B-Special which spent the bulk of its working years in a Sears department store in California. We use vintage wood and metal movable type along with custom made photopolymer plates to create the images we print. In addition to all the materials for sale on our site, we are more than capable of handling all aspects of your custom letterpress printing needs. Contact us about your wedding invitations, business cards, music packaging, or anything else.

Interview with Joseph from Black Heart Letterpress
When did you start letterpress printing?:
I got my own presses in 2010. I had very limited experience before that.
What do you like best about letterpress printing?:
I love the machines, and I love the repetative "manufacturing" feeling of it. Cranking a machine and having a new tangible product pop out of it amazes me.
What inspires you?:
Music for sure. And just the act of the printing itself.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
We started with a small Kelsey, but nowadays the main weapon is a C&P 10 x 15 New Series. As for paper, we use a wide variety of French papers as well as the nice cotton stuff (Lettra and Savoy).
How would you describe your artwork?:
Minimal, sometimes cute and occasionally perverted.
What kind of products do you create?:
Lots of cards, coasters, bookmarks, notebooks, prints, etc.
Do you offer custom work?:
yes
Where can we buy your products?:
http://blackheartletterpress.com/storeportfolio/
Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?:
Yes. If someone wants a good introductory workshop where they can learn the basics and print something of their own, we can surely do that. Just contact us through the website.
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?:
Buy the best press you possibly can! Knowledge and experience are awesome, but you will always be limited by your press in one way or another.
