Hey there! We are a design + letterpress studio based in Winter Park, Florida, specializing in custom paper goods which highlight our whimsical illustration. Spearheaded by Isabel Ibanez + Sheli Scarborough, the right + left brain of 9TH LETTER PRESS, respectively, we teamed up wanting to bring something different + fun to the paper market. Printed in our very own studio with machinery from the turn of the century, we strive to create unique + charming products, from wedding stationery to greeting cards that showcase our eye for detail. Beyond stationery, 9TH LETTER PRESS is growing to include a variety of products like notebooks, calendars, journals and wrapping paper. Our studio also houses a charming storefront where you can come visit to sip coffee, buy cards + such, or even take a peak at our beautiful letterpress in action. Our process kickstarts with a consultation in which we gather information regarding your tastes, inspiration + preferences for whatever project you have in mind. From there, Isabel will put to paper what you’ve dreamed up in your head while Sheli walks you through the ins + outs of your project, from start to finish. We’re an approachable, friendly + dedicated team, one in which looks forward to making the process of booking, ordering + designing a fun of experience. Please let us know how we can design, create + print what you have in mind by emailing Sheli Scarborough or giving us a call at 407. 599. 9909. Thanks so much!
Interview with Isabel from 9th Letter Press
When did you start letterpress printing?:
What do you like best about letterpress printing?:
I love that I hand in the production process from start to finish. From the initial drawing to the actual printing.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?:
I have a Chandler + Price and just acquired a Kluge.
How would you describe your artwork?:
Cute, charming. Lots of personality. :)
What kind of products do you create?:
Stationery, invitations, recipe cards, wrapping sheets, notepads.
Do you offer custom work?:
Where can we buy your products?:
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?:
I had no idea if I could really start a business. It seemed daunting to me. But as the months went by, and as I took each day as it came, I learned that I had a better work ethic than I thought. I really could put in the time, the effort and the energy to make this work. You can too. It just takes a really stubborn attitude.
